Equipment available from the TechOffice (Link 109)

The following items are available for booking from the Tech Office – all bookings are on a first-come first-served basis.
Items can not be booked for periods of more than one week by students or one month by staff without prior approval from
AHoS(Resources) ( Liz Hellier )

• Cameras (digital video) – miniDV and flash card format, also tripods, microphones etc
• Cameras (digital still) – with USB lead, or Tech Office can transfer pictures to server or CD for you.
• Laptop PCs – not normally available for extended loan during term time. For teaching and data collection use.
• PDAs and iPod Touch – used for data collection
• Projectors – portable VGA and video input
• Portable Hard Discs – USB for use with video and audio facilities to transfer media
• DVD players – will play most formats. DVD record facilities are also available
• LCD TVs - for use with DVD players (also with analogue tuner)
• TV/ VCR combos – vhs format Portable Cassette recorder/players, also mini-cassette, MD, and DAT recorders.
• Digital Dictaphones – record in wav or mp3 format with direct USB connection. Can use external mic.
• Microphones – a range for various uses Headphones – from cheap & cheerful to expensive & high quality
• Headsets – headphones with microphone for connection to PC
• Speakers – for connection to PC or other sound sources
• Digital Transcribers – foot pedals for controling Windows Media Player or Olympus player whilst transcribing audio recordings
• Analogue transcribers - the old cassette based type still soldiering on...
• Pulse rate monitors
• BP monitors
• Thermometers
• Body Fat Monitor
• Stopwatches
• Laser Pointers
• Personal Alarms – for use when working alone with participants
